About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations within an eye care setting. This role involves performing diagnostic eye tests, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and manage workflow efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary ophthalmic examinations, including: Visual field testing (central and peripheral), Ocular motility and color vision assessments, Tonometry and tonography (intraocular pressure measurement), Pharmacological pupil testing and dilation
  • Collect and document patient medical and personal history
  • Prepare patients for physician evaluation
  • Manage patient flow and scheduling for tests and procedures
  • Educate patients and families on diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Calibrate and maintain ophthalmic instruments such as: Slit lamps, Keratometers, Lensometers
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Assist physicians with clinical and minor surgical procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments for ophthalmic surgeries
  • Support laser treatments and operating room cases as needed
