About The Position

The Ophthalmic Scribe supports physician efficiency and productivity in the clinic setting. The role requires anticipating physician needs, communicating clearly with patients and staff, and multitasking effectively to facilitate clinic flow. The position may require travel to multiple locations, including a Surgery Center, based on clinic needs. No prior scribing experience is necessary; training is available for the right candidate. Starting pay is based on experience.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of medical terminology, preferably ophthalmology.
• Proficiency with desktop applications and typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen upon job offer; the employer is a drug-free workplace.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a medical practice or hospital setting.
• Experience in an ophthalmology practice.
• COA or COT certification.

Responsibilities
