About The Position

Florida Eye Specialists is seeking dedicated Ophthalmic Scribes for its rapidly growing practice. No prior experience is necessary, and training is available for the right candidate. The role supports physician efficiency and productivity in the clinic by anticipating physician needs, communicating clearly with patients and staff, and multitasking to facilitate clinic flow. The position requires travel to multiple locations, including a Surgery Center, as clinic needs arise. Starting pay is based on experience. After a 90-day probationary period, full-time employees are eligible for the listed benefits. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen upon job offer. Requirements

Basic understanding of medical terminology, preferably ophthalmology.
Proficiency with desktop applications.
Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pass and clear a pre-employment drug screen upon job offer.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in a medical practice or hospital setting.
Experience in an ophthalmology practice.
COA or COT certification.
