About The Position

At Vision Innovation Partners (VIP), our mission is to protect and restore vision, focusing on great patient outcomes and experiences. We are seeking an Ophthalmic Associate to join our patient care team. This role offers on-the-job training and experience, with a career path towards becoming an ophthalmic technician or scribe. The primary responsibilities include assisting providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilation of eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management
• Travel to other offices to assist, as needed.
