Ophthalmic Associate

The company is seeking an Ophthalmic Associate to join its patient care team. The ideal candidate has a passion for healthcare and learning, and the company is willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, the primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures, patient history, patient work-up, and administrative tasks. This is a floating position between locations Tunkhannock, Montrose, and Mid Valley based on the needs of the business, with travel time and mileage paid.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
Responsibilities
- Take medical histories and verify information
- Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as tonometry, Visions, ERG, Neurolens
- Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
- Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
- Contact lens teaches
- Explain how to properly use eye drops
- Explain how to properly use contact lenses
- Assist with inventory management
