About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking an Associate Ophthalmic Assistant. This role involves performing preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider. The assistant will also support the physician with various procedures and patient care, and is responsible for collecting subjective and objective ophthalmic data from patients or caregivers to communicate to the doctor. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Certification required

  • High School graduate
  • Previous health care experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, and/or optical office

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider
  • Assist the physician with procedures and care of the patient
