About The Position

The Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living seeks a passionate person to protect and monitor the legal and human rights of individuals under court-ordered guardianship. The position requires supervision of several Public Guardians. You will also cover a caseload of individuals with developmental disabilities or age-related cognitive impairments who require assistance with critical decision making in several life domains.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Three (3) years of experience at or above a technical level serving individuals with developmental disabilities and/or elders INCLUDING case management experience
Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a human services field.
Must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
Must be able to provide private means of transportation for field work.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to handle difficult interactions and confrontations.
Must be able to handle direct contact with individuals posing threats, which may involve potential danger of physical assault and injury.
Some work outside normal office hours is required, including emergency calls during evenings and weekends.
