As a Black Belt at BWXT, you’ll lead high‑impact Lean Six Sigma projects that drive meaningful operational improvements across the organization. You will guide cross‑functional teams, validate data, analyze processes, and identify opportunities that enhance quality, efficiency, and performance. You’ll interpret data, run experiments, and present clear, analytics‑backed recommendations to leadership. Location: Onsite in Erwin, TN Your Day to Day as an Operational Excellence Black Belt: Master LSS Principles: Develop deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools to lead impactful projects. Drive Measurable Results: Execute projects delivering visible improvements in quality, delivery, and cost. Build Lasting Relationships: Connect and collaborate with managers and supervisors while educating them on the value of LSS. Facilitate Effective Meetings: Lead team discussions that encourage valuable input and inspire collaboration. Champion Your Team's Success: Work closely with project Champions to navigate obstacles and secure essential resources for your team. Mentor and Coach: Share your knowledge by coaching Black Belt candidates, Yellow Belts, and team members while promoting ownership of projects. Celebrate Achievements: Ensure that your team's efforts and successes are publicly acknowledged and celebrated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong and demonstrable potential for leadership and the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to lead teams through challenging situations and propose impactful improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to positively influence stakeholders.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

  • Five or more years of experience, demonstrating a broad range of responsibilities and exposure to diverse challenges.
  • Prior leadership experience.
