About The Position

Palmer Candy is hiring Operators at its Bluff St facility. The Operator operates machines safely and efficiently, oversees the production line, and handles the packaging of confectionery products. The role ensures products are produced and packaged to quality specifications in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner. Operators may also perform other duties assigned or required by a supervisor or management team. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• Proficient verbal English communication skills for engaging with internal teams.
• Proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment instructions, and other relevant documents.
• Great attention to detail.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to lift 5–36 lbs frequently and occasionally perform a team lift of up to 72 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work on a concrete floor for 8–10 hours per day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate all machines safely and efficiently.
• Oversee production and packaging of confectionery products.
• Ensure Team Members produce and package quality products safely, securely, and sanitarily according to company specifications.
• Make cases for products whenever possible.
• Check products and bags for quality regularly.
• Move full loads to the warehouse using a hand jack or power jack.
• Keep count of finished products.
• Assist and work alongside others on the production line as needed.
• Keep the work area and machine clean and clear.
• Troubleshoot and fix minor machine problems as they arise.
• Train other employees as needed.
• Immediately notify the Supervisor of problems with machinery, product quality, or film.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Perform other duties assigned or required by the supervisor or management team.
