About The Position

The Operator is responsible for learning all aspects of production operations, including bulk sugar loading and unloading, melt processing, and packaging. The role involves starting and monitoring equipment, executing production processes, conducting quality control, completing paperwork, replenishing packaging supplies, and participating in cross-functional training and audits. The position may also require other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational skills and verbal and written English communication skills.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.

Nice To Haves

• Food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience troubleshooting equipment is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start up equipment and observe it for possible malfunctions.
• Report malfunctions to a supervisor and make minor adjustments or repairs, such as opening valves.
• Perform bulk loading and unloading and packaging processes according to established procedures.
• Perform quality control according to standardized processes and procedures.
• Complete necessary paperwork according to established processes and procedures.
• Replenish packaging supplies as needed.
• Participate in cross-functional training in all areas of operation.
• Participate in customer and federal audits as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
