Requirements

  • College or University Degree in Chemistry or equivalent field.
  • Experience in the medical and/or pharmaceutical fields with typically 2 years of pertinent experience.
  • Good communication (both written and verbal in French & English).
  • Must understand general SOPs and have knowledge of GLP regulations.
  • Good organizational skills, attentive to details with respect to sample pretreatment procedures and raw data handling.
  • Manual dexterity essential.
  • Basic knowledge of mass spectrometry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary system test.
  • Start batches of various types of projects for all laboratory teams and monitor batch performance to promptly identify possible problems (e.g., retention time shifting, sensitivity drops, instrument communication problems).
  • Monitor instrument performance throughout the injection to perform troubleshooting, system interruption, and batch re-injection procedures and intervene where necessary.
  • Complete supplementary information forms as needed to complete documentation.
  • Perform specific instrument optimization by FIA on mass spectrometers, and optimization on HPLC UV/FL.
  • Summarize and enumerate essential points during “hand off” to the subsequent shift.
  • Assist in pre-study meetings.
  • Responsible for appropriate column care (e.g., maintenance, rinsing, replacement).
  • Create and maintain the daily injection schedule, establishing project priorities with team managers as needed.
  • Conduct all work in compliance with applicable SOPs, GCPs, GLPs, and observe all company guidelines and policies.
  • Respect Health and Safety standards in terms of personal protection, laboratory maintenance, and work procedures.
