Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry to join their team in New Brunswick, NJ. This role involves designing, developing, and executing methods for trace-level quantitative analysis of impurities in drug substances and products using LC/high-resolution mass spectrometry. The scientist will apply high-resolution MS and MS/MS techniques for structural characterization of impurities and degradants in small molecule drug compounds, and perform mass spectrometry-driven peptide mapping for biologic therapeutics to support pharmaceutical formulation development. Responsibilities also include instrument maintenance, user training, influencing initiatives to improve structure elucidation capabilities, active participation in team meetings, delivering high-quality data, collaborating with subject matter experts, presenting scientific data, drafting technical reports, and representing the analytical function in matrix teams. The role also encourages expanding skills in techniques beyond mass spectrometry, such as NMR, to become a more complete structure elucidation scientist.
