Harvest - Operator/Loader - 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Operator/Loader oversees the rendering process from the raw material bin to finished goods storage. The position also performs general plant labor and housekeeping, including cleaning floors and equipment, handling trash and product, clearing screw conveyors, and maintaining floor drains. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Ability to climb stairs and silos.
Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
Knowledge of mechanical rendering and/or process equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills, general mechanics skills, and safe operation of equipment.
Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the rendering process from the raw material bin to finished goods storage.
Perform plant housekeeping, including hosing down and mopping floors, sweeping, and picking up and emptying trash.
Shovel and clean up spills in the plant.
Keep barrels emptied of trash and product.
Clean equipment from top to bottom.
Help unstop screw conveyors.
Cut plastic and product off screw conveyors.
Clean floor drains and keep drain covers in place.
Perform other duties as assigned.
