About The Position

The Operator/Loader oversees the rendering process from the raw material bin to finished goods storage and performs general plant labor. Duties include maintaining plant cleanliness, cleaning equipment, clearing screw conveyors, and keeping floor drains clean and covered. The role may also include other duties as assigned. This is a third-shift position paying $22.70 per hour, with a $1 per hour shift differential.

Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Ability to climb stairs and silos.
Ability to stand for the entire shift.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
Knowledge of mechanical rendering and/or process equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills, with general mechanics knowledge and the ability to operate equipment safely.
Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the rendering process from the raw material bin to finished goods storage.
Perform general plant labor and housekeeping, including hosing and mopping floors, sweeping, emptying barrels, and picking up trash.
Shovel and clean up spills in the plant.
Keep barrels emptied of trash and product.
Clean equipment from top to bottom.
Help unstop screw conveyors.
Cut plastic and product off screw conveyors.
Keep floor drains clean and drain covers in place.
Perform other duties as assigned.
