Monitors and operates wells and associated surface equipment including pumps, natural gas compressors, pumping units, valves, tanks, and other vessels, and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company. This role requires the ability to work established work schedules, with less supervision in the performance of routine duties. The operator will demonstrate increasing degrees of understanding of how the various parts of the oil/gas facility/plant work together, and an increased ability to work unsupervised, anticipating and correcting problems before they occur or affect other parts of the facility. The operator will be able to routinely operate the facility unsupervised, maintaining it in a safe, environmentally sound condition and keeping neat and accurate records. They will also demonstrate the ability to direct the work of and train other employees of lower rank and/or experience, and remain aware of and direct the whole scope of simultaneous activities at the job site. The operator must also be able to recognize non-standard or non-routine conditions, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions. Basic mathematical, mechanical, and computer skills are required, as well as the ability to operate a boat if applicable. The role demands the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to consider safety in all decisions. A valid driver's license is required.
