Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work in squatting, kneeling, bending, and overhead positions.
  • Capable of working from step stools and standing at a workstation for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Able to work in hot (up to 105°F), noisy, and dusty environments.
  • Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC press brake machines to form parts per production requirements.
  • Programs and inputs correct settings to produce accurate parts in required quantities.
  • Performs basic setups for non-complex bends.
  • Uses control language and computer functions to set up, operate, and adjust (offset) the press brake.
  • Runs production lots, monitors machine operation, and detects malfunctions such as worn or damaged tools.
  • Assists in training CNC operators on proper equipment operation.
  • Interfaces with engineering to program machine setups and ensure efficient operations.
  • Reads and interprets shop drawings, blueprints, and production paperwork.
  • Uses measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures to verify part conformity.
  • Monitors calibration of equipment within the department.
  • Reviews finished parts for compliance with workmanship and quality standards.
  • Completes quality and timekeeping records, including In-Process and Final Audit Reports.
  • Determines if supplied materials meet production requirements.
  • Loads work order files into the CNC system as needed.
  • Properly fills out identification tags for parts produced to ensure traceability.
  • Follows all safety policies and wears required PPE (safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes, gloves).
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies (6S Standards).
  • Understands and operates all required protective safety equipment.
  • Ensures hazardous waste is handled appropriately and placed into the proper container(s).
  • Knows spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
  • Receives on-the-job training from the cell supervisor.
  • Stays current on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and performs basic mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Understands and supports the company’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Understands OSHA and EPA standards and undergoes hazardous materials handling training.
