About The Position

Carpenter Co. is seeking a skilled, safety-conscious forklift and clamp truck operator to transport raw materials and finished goods throughout its Temple, Texas facility. The operator works with production teams and supervisors to support daily manufacturing and shipping schedules and help meet production goals while maintaining operational excellence. The role is on the third shift, starting at 7:00 p.m., with overtime as needed to complete the day's work. The position includes recharging forklift batteries and exchanging propane tanks in accordance with safety instructions, following safe-stacking rules, and maintaining an orderly work environment. The operator must safely maneuver in busy, confined areas shared with pedestrians and other machinery, including traveling in reverse while carrying product.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Forklift operation skills and ability to pass company certification.
Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and data entry.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and fully understand English instructions and labeling processes.

Responsibilities

Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility safely, efficiently, and on time.
Work with production teams and supervisors to support manufacturing and shipping schedules.
Recharge forklift batteries and exchange propane tanks according to safety instructions.
Follow the company's safe-stacking policy and recognize prohibited or restricted areas.
Operate a forklift safely in confined, busy spaces alongside pedestrians and other machinery.
Safely and efficiently operate a forklift while traveling in reverse with product.
Maintain a neat, orderly, and organized work environment.
