About The Position

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment used to manufacture high-quality wood components. This position ensures products are produced safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting company quality standards and production schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering production data.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CNC machine operation experience in a woodworking or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating CNC routers using woodworking software.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals.
  • Experience with cabinet, furniture, millwork, or architectural wood products manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC routers, machining centers, and related woodworking equipment.
  • Load materials and programs into CNC machines according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and production schedules.
  • Verify machine settings, tooling, and material dimensions before production.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections using measuring tools.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
  • Replace tooling and perform routine machine maintenance as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor machine issues and notify maintenance or supervision of major equipment problems.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and other production team members.
