About The Position

Charter Wire’s 81st Street facility is hiring a third-shift Wasino CNC Operator. The facility produces parts for global customers and emphasizes quality. The role operates and monitors four Wasino CNC machines and a sorting machine, helping maintain production flow and ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality requirements. The position includes structured onboarding and training, with opportunities to pursue different production levels as employees are ready.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED equivalent, or willingness to obtain a GED.
Basic oral and written communication skills, reading ability, and computer literacy.
Detail-oriented, with basic problem-solving skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work well with other employees and contribute to a positive team environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing or CNC operation experience.
Previous experience entering data into an enterprise resource planning (ERP) or statistical process control (SPC) system.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
Previous forklift experience.
Ability to read and interpret production specifications.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor four Wasino CNC machines and a sorting machine.
Load and unload parts.
Perform basic machine offsets, adjustments, and tooling changes.
Inspect parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Complete quality checks and production records.
Perform routine operator maintenance and support preventative maintenance.
Keep the work area clean and safe.
Partner with Set-Up Operators, Quality, and Maintenance to keep production moving and improve equipment performance.
Help train other operators as needed.
