About The Position

Lead day-to-day execution of operational workflows by coordinating people, priorities, and process. This role is the “pace-setter” on the floor—ensuring safe, accurate, and timely throughput across inbound, outbound, inventory, and/or production activities while reinforcing standards and coaching the team.

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading or acting as a lead in an operations environment (warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and hold a team accountable to standards and daily goals.
  • Comfort working with operational metrics (accuracy, throughput, on-time shipment, productivity, inventory integrity).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across shift handoffs and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with basic systems/tools (ERP/WMS or inventory/shipping systems; Outlook; Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean / continuous improvement (5S, standard work, root cause).
  • Cycle count and inventory reconciliation experience.
  • Forklift / material handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience supporting E-commerce fulfillment, returns/RMA processing, or multi-channel distribution.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and incident reporting in an operational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shift start-up: priorities, staffing alignment, safety reminders, and target outputs.
  • Assign work, monitor progress, and rebalance labor throughout the day to hit service goals.
  • Act as first-line escalation for workflow blockers (missing inventory, system issues, exceptions).
  • Ensure clean shift handoffs: status, backlog, issues, and next steps.
  • Reinforce standard work to reduce errors in picking/packing/shipping, staging, or production steps.
  • Support inventory accuracy via cycle counts, bin audits, discrepancy investigations, and reconciliation follow-through.
  • Monitor and address error trends; coach individuals and adjust processes where needed.
  • Train new hires and cross-train current team members on key processes.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, feedback, and recognition; escalate performance concerns as appropriate.
  • Promote a respectful, consistent, and compliant work environment.
  • Enforce safety practices and housekeeping/5S standards.
  • Report incidents/near-misses and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper handling of materials, equipment, and documentation per policy.
  • Identify operational friction points; recommend improvements to layout, tools, SOPs, and scheduling.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives (standard work updates, KPI cadence, training refreshers).
  • Support implementation of new tools/processes and drive adoption on the floor.
