About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries. The Operations Support Specialist will provide general administrative support for operations, including contacting vendors, maintaining contact lists, managing mailings, ordering supplies, handling reception and visitor management, and assisting with new employee onboarding. This role will collaborate with business development staff and other administrators to establish schedules and coverage for essential activities. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining electronic files, managing sample lifecycles through LIMS, performing various administrative duties for company operations throughout North America, placing and receiving orders, logging reagents into LIMS, data scanning, filing, retrieval, archiving, and preparing for yearly on-site archival. The specialist will also compile Data Packages through LIMS, complete training administration functions, conduct all activities safely and efficiently, and perform other assigned duties. Key attributes for success include organizing projects with attention to detail, taking initiative in gathering technical information, handling demanding clients with good judgment, and representing the company professionally.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher in a science or business curriculum or a minimum two years in an administrative role
  • Solid computer skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including ability to ask appropriate question to attain necessary information to keep projects moving forward)
  • Attention to detail in writing, proofreading, and communications
  • Dedication to quality processes
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service practices

Responsibilities

  • General administrative support for operations such as contacting vendors and contractors, maintaining contact lists, mailings/postage (FedEx, UPS), general supply support (lab coats, supply orders, etc.), reception, visitor management, on-boarding for new employees
  • Work hand in hand with business development staff and other administrators to establish schedules and coverage for all essential activities
  • Set-up and maintain electronic files and folders; electronic management of sample life cycles through LIMS
  • Various administrative duties for company operations throughout North America
  • Place and receive orders, log reagents into LIMS
  • Responsible for data scanning and filing/retrieval, archiving and yearly on-site archival preparation
  • Compile Data Packages through LIMS
  • Complete training administration functions as requested
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Organize projects and schedule with attention to detail
  • Take initiative in gathering technical information and completing tasks
  • Handle demanding clients; exercise good judgment in handling complaints
  • Represent company in a professional manner
