About The Position

The role of the Operations Support is to provide dispatch support to our transportation planning team. The successful candidate will be trained on all positions within the Dispatch team. This is a permanent position with a Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to ensure phones and satellite messages are answered promptly.
  • Ability to ensure load specific and operations related documents, gate passes, time cards, and customs paperwork are administered in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to respond to various types of operational issues including but not limited to: equipment breakdowns, driver reassignments, custom or border delays, load delays or cancellations, overweight loads, etc.
  • Ability to establish plans for loads that will not meet service commitments.
  • Ability to ensure correct equipment is assigned to customers and trailer bank commitments are not delayed.
  • Ability to ensure yard check, load security, heated load and inactive trailer monitoring are completed daily.
  • Ability to relay information, obstacles, and discrepancies to driver managers, operations, customer service, and other various departments when necessary and in order to prevent systematic service failures.
  • Ability to monitor for hazardous or time sensitive maintenance flags and assigning equipment accordingly.
  • Ability to ensure data integrity is preserved by ensuring the following items are planned accurately and in a timely manner: Deadheads, Switches, Check-calls, Correcting error messages.
  • Ability to enter orders.
  • Ability to respond to the after-hour needs of customers.
  • Ability to assist planners with overflow dispatching.
  • Ability to fill in planning role when needed.
  • Ability to support any team member who needs assistance.
  • Ability to monitor pools of equipment and report on fleet balance and utilization.
  • Ability to monitor foreign equipment in order to help facilitate timely returns.
  • Ability to reconcile computer records with physical yard checks.
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies in order to prevent losses of equipment.
