About The Position

The Operations & Supply Chain Analyst – Continuous Improvement is a hands-on, individual-contributor role supporting production, equipment, warehouse, and supply chain leaders. The Analyst spends significant time on production and warehouse floors conducting time studies, mapping material and work flows, and quantifying cost, freight, labor, throughput, and inventory. The role turns these findings into cost-saving initiatives, stronger supplier compliance, and improved inventory planning. Dashboards, data definitions, and requirements for KULR’s internal AI-enabled operations platform help deliver and sustain these improvements; the position is not primarily a data or business-systems analyst role. The Analyst maintains supplier compliance data and inventory planning parameters in the platform; develops cost-savings business cases and tracks planned versus realized savings; analyzes freight rates and consolidation scenarios; and produces labor, throughput, spend, demand, and equipment analytics. The role also maps production and supply chain workflows, supports platform enhancements through functional specifications and user-acceptance testing, and creates user instructions and training materials. Operational decisions and execution remain with the relevant Operations, Warehouse, Quality, and procurement leaders. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Vice President of Operations. The role is based primarily at Forge 2 (Ellington) in Houston, Texas, with work split between office and manufacturing/warehouse areas and limited travel between KULR facilities. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a criminal background check. The employee must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as defined under ITAR and must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations environment; purely analytics, data, or business-intelligence experience does not meet this requirement.
  • Hands-on experience on a production or warehouse floor.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: supplier compliance (NDAA, country of origin, AS9100/ISO, AVL, or certificates of conformance); freight and logistics cost analysis; inventory planning (min/max, reorder points, safety stock, or ABC); or production time studies, cycle-time analysis, or line balancing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a financial business case, including payback, annualized savings, and variance to plan, and present it to leadership.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data models, pivot tables, and lookups.
  • Working knowledge of supplier quality and sourcing requirements, including AS9100 supplier records, certificates of conformance, NDAA sourcing restrictions, ITAR/EAR, and country of origin.
  • Understanding of freight modes and rating, cost-to-serve, inventory carrying cost, and inventory planning methods such as min/max, reorder points, safety stock, and ABC classification.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, including takt, standard work, line balancing, OEE, changeover reduction, and 5S.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to turn operational and transactional data into clear recommendations with quantified benefits.
  • Clear technical writing skills for requirements, acceptance criteria, work instructions, and concise leadership summary decks.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage several initiatives against deadlines across multiple functions.
  • Collaborative and neutral approach, working for process-owning leaders and presenting findings without taking over their decisions.
  • Willingness to spend significant time on the production and warehouse floor observing work.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as defined under ITAR due to federal contract requirements and meet ITAR requirements.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Experience in an AS9100, ITAR, or other regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect supplier quality certifications and other required certificates, track expiration dates, request renewals, and report upcoming expirations monthly.
  • Maintain audit-ready Approved Vendor List records, including supplier status, evaluation forms, and Procurement onboarding documents; supplier status changes are approved by Quality.
  • Benchmark LTL, parcel, and dangerous-goods freight rates across carriers and lanes, model consolidation scenarios, and prepare recommendations for the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager.
  • Calculate and maintain common-stock min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock in the platform using consumption history, bills of material, lead times, and order minimums; validate quantities with Production and the Warehouse & Logistics Specialist and review monthly.
  • Prepare spend and demand-history analytics to support sourcing decisions made by the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager and Controller.
  • Build quantitative business cases for Operations improvement initiatives and track realized savings against plans for monthly Finance reviews.
  • Conduct time studies and cycle-time analyses; model takt, station balance, and crew size by product configuration; quantify the throughput effects of proposed changes.
  • Analyze labor data by work order, program, and station to report labor hours per unit, utilization, and idle time and identify cross-training and allocation opportunities for Production Supervisors’ decisions.
  • Facilitate requested improvement events with production and warehouse teams, including process mapping, 5 Whys, standard-work documentation, and 5S assessments; track actions and quantify results.
  • Maintain the Operations improvement log and report progress to the VP of Operations monthly.
  • Map current-state workflows across production, equipment, warehouse, kitting, receiving, labor, and shipping; identify manual, duplicated, or error-prone steps for potential automation or improvement.
  • Build platform dashboards and exception reports for operational issues such as labor-to-work-order mismatches, inventory variances during the NetSuite migration, supplier certificate expirations, and upcoming material shortages.
  • Author functional requirements, data definitions, and acceptance criteria for Operations platform enhancements; plan and execute user-acceptance testing, document results, and coordinate fixes with the platform team.
  • Write and maintain user work instructions and quick-reference guides, deliver user training, and standardize data definitions so reporting is consistent with NetSuite during the migration.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
