Operations Supervisor - 3rd shift

About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line supervisor responsible for hourly production and distribution employees in designated areas on a single shift. The role oversees staffing, production efficiency and quality, equipment maintenance coordination, employee training and performance, compliance with plant and quality procedures, and a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in a union environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure maximum efficiency and quality.
Coordinate and monitor personnel scheduling to ensure proper staffing.
Coordinate equipment repairs and follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
Ensure employees follow plant rules and policies, and administer disciplinary actions when required.
Ensure accurate reporting of production, scrap, and other required shift data.
Provide on-the-job training and complete training documentation.
Ensure employees follow quality procedures and complete required documentation, including check sheets, setup approvals, and 5S sheets.
Communicate and interact effectively with department employees, the Plant Manager, support services, and all levels of management to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor the work area to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Complete employee performance appraisals and initiate corrective action when needed.
Promote a healthy employee environment and promptly report and resolve issues in accordance with HR guidelines.
