About The Position
The Operations Specialist supports gas field operations from an office setting by reviewing, processing, and maintaining accurate Gas Services records. The role verifies work order documentation, resolves discrepancies with field personnel and internal teams, and supports timely work order completion. It contributes to safe operations, reliable system records, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The position uses knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in its area, works under minimal supervision, and relies on experience and judgment to plan and complete tasks. The role supports operations at Peoples Gas locations in Chicago South, Central, and downtown Aon Center. A hybrid work schedule may be available for the Aon location.
Requirements
- High school diploma, HSED, or GED.
- At least 5 years of experience with standard computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- At least 5 years of experience identifying and implementing solutions to problems.

Responsibilities
- Work across company functions to meet internal and external customer needs and support field operations.
- Perform office-based support tasks, including data entry, updating company systems, timekeeping, and supporting field personnel.
- Create and route work orders.
- Manage customer-driven, non-emergency orders to fulfill service requests and compliance requirements.
- Navigate operational systems to input, update, or change customer- or system-related information.
- Perform administrative tasks and multiple assignments or projects, gathering, reviewing, and analyzing information.
- Verify work order documentation and resolve discrepancies with field personnel and internal teams.
- Support timely work order completion and maintain accurate Gas Services records.
