Operations & Planning Analyst
About The Position
The Operations & Planning Analyst conducts research, analysis, and reporting and assists in developing recommendations concerning Operational Plans (OPLANs), concept development, and naval integration efforts in support of the 2d MarDiv G-3 Plans Section. The role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to ProSol’s core values of agility, excellence, integrity, and long-term commitment to clients, partners, and employees. The analyst supports vulnerability and survivability analysis, future planning methodologies, force development, readiness assessments, emerging technology evaluation, and integration of Live-Virtual-Constructive Training Environment (LVC-TE) initiatives. The analyst also supports the 2d MarDiv Plans Officer and works with relevant communities of interest on testing and development of gear and equipment.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience working on a U.S. military General Officer-level staff, specifically in either the current or future operations section.
- Eligible for a TOP SECRET // Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance; Top Secret clearance is required.
- Completed education at the career (O-4) level or higher from a United States military service school.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability analysis of 2d MarDiv-aligned areas of operations and develop reports, recommended actions, and input to OPLANs, ensuring analysis accounts for reconciliation of 2d MarDiv capabilities with theater and global campaign plan demands and current strategic guidance.
- Analyze Future Plans methodologies and processes and develop recommendations to improve plan quality; assist with developing and delivering tailored training to 2d MarDiv G-3 and staff.
- Analyze and recommend conventional force survivability- and lethality-enhancing concepts, capabilities, technologies, and solutions.
- Analyze strategic and long-range plans and operational concepts concerning 2d MarDiv employment, and develop analysis and reports to improve plans, concepts, and fiscal assessment for the Division Development Program in line with the Commanding General’s Mission Training Plan and guidance.
- Recommend ways to balance operational requirements against limited resources by assessing the effects of budget, material readiness, and manpower availability on required training, survivability, and completion of Mission Essential Tasks (METs).
- Help identify emerging Science and Technology innovations and survivability technology infusion issues, and analyze the functional capability gains provided to military end users.
- Analyze integration of existing and future Live-Virtual-Constructive Training Environment (LVC-TE) initiatives.
- Conduct functional analyses and develop products that mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Analyze and recommend ways for 2d MarDiv to align its Man, Train, and Equip efforts with HQMC and Higher Headquarters requirements, balanced against unit capabilities and readiness.
- Develop survivability- and vulnerability-based recommendations concerning conventional force feasibility, giving 2d MarDiv decision makers insight into personnel, supply, readiness, and training elements.
- Analyze operational plans, concept development, and naval integration efforts in support of the 2d MarDiv Plans Section.
- Assist the 2d MarDiv Plans Officer with Operational Planning Teams during Division exercises, contingencies, and other planning initiatives as directed.
- Provide analysis and recommendations concerning 2d MarDiv Force Design 2030 tasks.
- Work with the community of interest to support appropriate testing, evaluation, and development of gear and equipment for 2d MarDiv.
