About The Position

Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking. Duties Serve as the expert advisor to Directorate of Public Works (DPW) Director and Deputy Director on operational activities and projects. Participate in the daily near-term (6-18 months) and long-range (2-5 years) planning and coordination of all functions, programs, mission and activities of DPW Operations. Assist in the operations and execution of Plans, Training, Taskings and synchronization with the other US Army Garrison-Hawaii Directorates. Assist in the execution of facility and infrastructure services, inspections and daily operational mission of personnel assigned to DPW.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• This position has been designated as Mission Essential.
• Must be able to be on call to respond to emergencies and emergency infrastructure outages.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license.
• One year of specialized experience which includes administering organizational/directorate operational plans in support of engineering and infrastructure projects; conduct site assessments to support project development; facilitate discussions with internal and external teams; develop, coordinate, and publish engineering and operational orders and taskings; and directs organizational emergency operations and emergency response teams.
• Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
• You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
• This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.
• Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
