About The Position

Security America, Inc., a locally owned West Virginia family-owned company, is hiring a Security Officer for operations. The officer patrols and monitors an assigned area, investigates suspicious activity, controls access at a gate for students, staff, and guests, and communicates with emergency personnel when needed. The officer must interact courteously with patients, the public, and emergency personnel, and complete written reports. The position is full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday, 4:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A $150 new-hire bonus is offered after 60 days of full-time employment.

Requirements

• Unarmed officers must have Act 67.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must have a high school diploma, GED, or 10 years of verifiable work experience.
• Candidates must pass a criminal history check, employment verification and reference checks, a registered sex-offender search, and driver's license validation.
• Candidates must be drug-free and able to pass a drug screen, unless undergoing documented medical treatment.
• Candidates must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Candidates must communicate effectively in writing and orally for report writing.
• Candidates must interact courteously with the public and emergency personnel.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Candidates must meet state licensing requirements for Security Officers, if required.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• Ability to communicate using a phone or handheld radios.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities
