About The Position

This is a professional position in the Division of Statewide Community-Based Services and Bureau of Community Support and Services, responsible for the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program, Adult Care Food Program, SNAP Pilot Project and the Senior Farmers’ Market Program.

Requirements

  • Registered and Licensed Dietitian in accordance with Chapter 468, F.S. and the American Dietetic Association (Preferred)
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise overall operations of the Adult Care Food Program (ACFP) and ensure the program is administered within applicable regulations, including management of the state plan; compliance with required onsite reviews; tracking program expenditures; review and approval of provider payments; development of related documents, forms, training sessions and software to reduce or eliminate administrative requirements of participant agencies; and overseeing contract management.
  • Provide oversight and ensure compliance with requirements of the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), including management of the state plan; tracking program expenditures; reviewing and approving Purchase Orders, invoices, local agency Memorandums of Understanding; development of related documents, forms, training sessions and software to reduce or eliminate administrative requirements of local agencies.
  • This position is supervisory as defined in section 110.205(2) (Yv), F.S. and directly supervises employees. Incumbent reports to, works with, and assists the Bureau Chief in the duties related to but not limited to, the preparation and administration of the unit's budget. This position is responsible for directing, motivating, training, evaluating, and disciplining direct reports.
  • Work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Florida Department of Health (DOH), Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS), and other organizations or agencies on grant opportunities, coalitions, and workgroups to ensure senior nutrition is represented.
  • Serving as the lead for any program reviews, audits, and Management Evaluations.
  • Advise senior management through the Bureau Chief of nutrition related issues and changes in policies and provide guidance to management.
  • Meet all established deadlines for completion of assignments, projects, and State and federal reports related to program administration and staff supervision.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws and rules pertaining to the oversight of the programs and contract management.
  • As part of the contract manager responsibilities, incumbent is required to maintain continuing professional education and training in the contracting process as deemed appropriate by the Department, including an annual review of the Contract Manual and any updates.
  • Provide expertise and technical assistance on nutrition programs and services to department, area agency on aging (AAA) and local service provider staff.
  • Assist in developing nutrition monitoring standards, program reports, state plans and contract requirements.
  • Develop, revise or update nutrition program review tools. Assist the local providers in developing or updating policies and procedures, i.e., nutrition standards, food safety, menu planning, nutrition education and nutrition counseling materials.
  • Travel to ACFP onsite reviews, pre-site reviews, and trainings, as needed. Travel to SFMNP distribution events and local agencies for event assistance and monitoring. Other travel to job-related conferences, trainings, and meetings, as needed.
