About The Position

This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. The role involves developing and administering the dental program budget within the framework of the strategic plan, monitoring clinic expenditures, and coordinating all dental department purchasing. The consultant will assess budgetary needs, develop bid packages and purchase orders, and certify invoices for payment. Additionally, the position requires reviewing administrative policies and operational procedures, identifying potential problems, and recommending appropriate actions. The role also coordinates the School Based Sealant Program, manages funding grants, serves as the data manager for the Florida SEALS program, and provides training and technical assistance to dental staff. Reporting and data management for school-based sealants are key responsibilities. The consultant will also coordinate a county dental health education program, providing information to various groups and assisting school board and county administration. Finally, the position involves coordinating activities related to the evaluation of preventive programs, such as topical fluoride applications, to community groups, schools, daycares, and geriatric centers, and interpreting policies for their implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Completes required school-based sealant reports.
  • Coordinates a county dental health education program; provides information to teachers, nurses, and aides in schools, clinics and nursing homes; and provides assistance and information to school board and county administration in dental health education.
  • Coordinates activities related to evaluation of preventive programs involving the use of topical fluorides to community groups, schools, day cares and geriatric centers; interprets policies, procedures and standards for implementation of fluoride programs.
