About The Position

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing production flow from beginning to end, participating as a lead staff member responsible for operations and performance. This role provides overall leadership and direction to direct reports responsible for all aspects of manufacturing. The manager will lead multi-disciplinary plant teams in meetings to establish monthly forecasts and associated business metrics from a continuous improvement perspective. They will develop and provide strategic manufacturing direction and planning for a 1-3 year horizon, utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, automation, and Kaizen disciplines. The role involves participating in operational budget preparation, coordinating capital plans, appropriation requests, and project follow-up. Key responsibilities include implementing quarter-over-quarter improvement strategies to increase efficiency, spend performance, customer delivery, and plant safety. The manager will oversee day-to-day manufacturing process activities to maximize safety and best practices, analyze and implement process flow, inventory, and velocity improvements throughout the value stream, and monitor production workflow and inventory levels to ensure schedules are met and bottlenecks are corrected. This position requires interfacing with various functional areas like planning, sales, quality, engineering, and finance to foster a cooperative spirit, drive continuous improvement, and enhance customer satisfaction. EHS compliance is critical, requiring adherence to safety regulations and department-specific safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage production flow from beginning to end.

  • Develop and provide strategic manufacturing direction and planning for 1-3 year planning horizon, utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, automation, & Kaizen disciplines.
  • Participate in the operational budget preparation and coordinate capital plans, appropriation requests, and project follow up.
  • Implement quarter over quarter improvement strategies to increase efficiency, spend performance, customer delivery, and plant safety performance.
  • Manage day to day manufacturing process activities to assure that safety and best practices are maximized.
  • Analyze and implement process flow, inventory, and velocity improvements throughout the entire value stream system, which includes key supplier base and outside vendors.
  • Monitors and manages the production workflow and inventory levels to ensure that production schedules are met, and bottlenecks are identified and corrected.
  • Interfaces with a variety of functional areas such as planning, sales, quality, engineering, and finance to ensure cooperative spirit, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer satisfaction are continually enhanced.
  • EHS compliance follow Safety Regulations along with all department specific safety requirements.
