About The Position

The Operations Manager oversees the facility’s day-to-day operations to ensure departments are organized, efficient, and effective, and that their daily tasks and responsibilities are completed. The role ensures jobs are covered, issues are handled appropriately, and decisions are made to increase company profitability and revenue. The Warehouse Manager may report to this position.

The position manages OTR and local drivers and supports shipment registration, daily crew dispatch, payroll, fuel-log audits, warehouse operations, and compliance with current logs. The role is mainly indoors, though outdoor work is sometimes required. It involves sitting for extended periods and sometimes lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous managerial experience.
• Knowledge of company systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
• Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry.
• Knowledge of residential, commercial, and military move processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage OTR and local drivers, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, qualifying, disciplining, and terminating.
• Manage the acceptance and registration process for new shipments.
• Assist with dispatching crews for each day’s jobs and keeping workload at its maximum, including driver assignments and coordinating with corporate so shipments are assigned and picked up.
• Assist with weekly payroll, including data entry and paperwork.
• Audit fuel logs weekly.
• Assist with warehouse operations and ensure the warehouse and surrounding lot are clean, orderly, and able to pass fire and SMO inspections.
• Ensure logs are current and compliant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
