About The Position

The Operations Manager will own brand-building delivery and client communication for a growing Amazon business managing around 12 brands. The company grows existing sellers through PPC and catalogue management, builds brands for clients from sourcing through launch and ongoing management, and launches its own Amazon brands. The role keeps two connected pipelines moving—the new-product pipeline and the client-launch pipeline—and frees the founders from day-to-day coordination. The Operations Manager coordinates sourcing, supply chain, catalogue, design and PPC work; tracks orders, stock, logistics, forecasts and operational issues; manages client expectations and updates; and improves operating systems, SOPs and workflows. The product lead supplies product ideas, while specialists own advertising, copy and growth strategy. Product-launch experience is not required, as the founders can teach the product side. This is a full-time, fully remote position for someone with EU time-zone overlap, working primarily within UK/Western European hours and core overlap with founders based in Lisbon. Some flexibility is expected for early supplier communications with China and afternoon or evening client communications with European and US clients. The role is offered as an independent contractor arrangement, with the candidate responsible for tax procedures in their country of residence. The stated starting base is $4,000 per month, with performance-related earnings and potential compensation growth.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of operations leadership in e-commerce, Amazon or a supply-chain-heavy business, including running a function rather than only executing within one.
  • Understanding of Amazon, catalogue and listing workflows, and the product-to-launch process; personally launching Amazon products is not required.
  • Excellent organisation and follow-through, including maintaining trackers, identifying gaps and assigning each action an owner and deadline.
  • Excellent written English at native or near-native level, as client-facing communication is a core part of the role.
  • Ability to design and implement disciplined processes and daily ownership of a system such as ClickUp, Notion or Airtable.
  • Strong prioritisation and ability to manage multiple projects, follow up promptly and keep work moving in a fast-paced business.
  • Strong cross-team coordination, accountability, clear role definition and effective work with specialists.
  • Self-directed approach: diagnose problems and act without waiting for instructions.
  • Client-management maturity, including handling delays, cost overruns, bad news and scope arguments professionally, resetting expectations and keeping clients engaged.
  • People-management ability to hold team members accountable, lead specialists through clear briefs and consistent follow-up, and run meetings that produce decisions.
  • Strong AI fluency: use AI tools confidently to improve workflows and speed while applying independent judgement and checking outputs.
  • Based in or able to overlap with EU time zones; Western or Eastern Europe is strongly preferred, with UK working hours.
  • Ability to work remotely as an independent contractor and to make this a full-time primary role, with no freelancing or second jobs.
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to handle launch delays or client challenges without becoming defensive or flustered.
  • Attention to detail, including noticing discrepancies in numbers, listing errors and ineffective processes.
  • Clear, structured and concise communication that is complete and moves work forward with a clear next step.
  • Willingness to work in a role where processes are still being built, with speed and sound judgement valued over perfection.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct Amazon FBA private-label launch experience, either with a personal brand or as an agency operator.
  • Commercial awareness, including comfort reading client contracts and revenue-share terms and identifying when scope changes become commercial issues.
  • Experience managing offshore teams in the Philippines, India, Pakistan or Eastern Europe.
  • Experience working at a bootstrapped business or serving as a COO-of-one at a small company.
  • Supply-chain experience, including supplier negotiation, securing better deals, sourcing in China, freight or FBA logistics.
  • Familiarity with Xero, Sellerboard, Helium 10, Jungle Scout or similar Amazon-specific tools.
  • Experience running both client-facing and internal operations functions.

Responsibilities

  • Run the new-product pipeline, moving ideas through sourcing and quotes, prioritising with supply chain, and requesting more ideas from the product lead when needed.
  • Run the client-launch pipeline from product selection to launch, ensuring each step has a clear owner, deadline and follow-up.
  • Conduct an initial daily 30-minute pulse check on launch blockers, outstanding quotes, product ideas and client or team Slack updates.
  • Work with supply chain to keep orders, stock and logistics on track, and build forecasts as real sales data becomes available.
  • Clear blockers, chase outstanding quotes and help the team prioritise work.
  • Coordinate catalogue, design and PPC specialists to ensure work is ready on time and tasks are not missed.
  • Own the brand-building client journey, manage expectations and follow up promptly on decisions and outstanding actions.
  • Spend around half of working time on client communication, including providing active sourcing-phase clients with clear updates at least twice a week.
  • Maintain trackers and regular reporting; identify refund, stock or sales issues early and present a plan to address them.
  • Improve operating systems through clearer SOPs, better ClickUp workflows, and useful AI or automation.
  • Run the weekly operations meeting and provide founders with concise reports on progress, risks and next steps.
  • Within the first 30 days, take over the workflow, update clients, move products forward and flag problems with a plan; write a one-page plan for the next four weeks near month end.
  • By 60 days, improve the systems being run, such as the pipeline, SOPs, ClickUp or AI tools.
  • By 90 days, own operations and client communication across around 12 brands in the brand-building programme, establish regular reporting, raise issues early and begin forecasting from sales data.
  • Potentially grow into wider business and agency operations and build a team of one or two people.
