About The Position

This position is responsible for driving and implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals such as production, quality, and safety, and to implement operational improvements. The role involves forecasting staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands. It also includes preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports to identify operational improvements. The Operations Manager will monitor and ensure compliance with logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures. They will resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervise and manage associates and leaders by providing direction, monitoring performance, giving feedback, and identifying training and development needs. This role emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering associates to thrive. It also involves acting with integrity, upholding ethical standards, and contributing to Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company. The position requires a focus on serving customers and members by delivering results, adapting to customer shopping behaviors, and applying business models. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 1 year's experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas OR 1 year's experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 3 years' experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drive and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) and implement operational improvements.
  • Forecast staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
  • Prepare, review, and/or analyze business reports and use information to identify operational improvements (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Monitor and ensure area of responsibility's compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Identify and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teach, support, and model Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates, leaders, and managers.
