About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for driving and implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. This role involves forecasting staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands. The Operations Manager will prepare, review, and analyze business reports to identify operational improvements. They will also monitor and ensure compliance with logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures. A key aspect of this role is supervising and managing associates and leaders, providing direction, monitoring performance, offering feedback, and identifying training and development needs. The Operations Manager will foster a culture of belonging, attract and retain talent, empower and develop individuals, and recognize contributions. They will act with integrity, maintaining high ethical standards and supporting Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact on associates, customers, members, and the world. This position requires putting the customer first, making data-driven decisions, and striving for excellence through continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 1 year's experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas.
  • OR 1 year's experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • OR 3 years' experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drive and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).

  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates, leaders, and managers.
