About The Position

Pattern is seeking a driven Operations Intern for a year-long hybrid internship in Lehi, Utah. The intern will gain hands-on experience in business intelligence, data analysis, ecommerce operations, and supply chain management while working under the supervision of staff. The role involves tracking and analyzing operational data, supporting inventory and order fulfillment workflows, coordinating with cross-functional teams and partners, documenting and improving processes, and assisting with day-to-day Operations activities. The schedule is full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year.

The intern will work alongside the Operations Business Intelligence Analyst and shadow other Operations team members. The position provides mentorship and networking opportunities, and outstanding performance could potentially lead to a full-time position within the company. The intern reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager, who serves as manager and mentor.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of operations, supply chain, and business principles.
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups, and comfort working with large data sets.
• Natural curiosity and an analytical mindset, including checking work and investigating unexpected data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when handling large volumes of data.
• Collaboration, trustworthiness, receptiveness to feedback, and eagerness to learn.
• Strong organization and communication skills, including explaining data and findings to non-technical teammates, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Ability to contribute to compiling and analyzing data, tracking information, and supporting the company or client.

Responsibilities

• Pull, clean, and validate operational data from spreadsheets, internal systems, marketplaces, and fulfillment partners, and maintain accurate and complete operational records.
• Build and refresh weekly and monthly reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets tracking metrics such as inventory levels, order status, shipment timeliness, and fulfillment accuracy.
• Monitor inventory, orders, and shipments across marketplaces and fulfillment partners; identify anomalies and trends and flag issues to appropriate owners.
• Investigate ad hoc operational questions and present findings clearly and concisely.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and processes so others can understand and reuse the work.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Own a small project or analysis and share findings and recommendations with the Operations team.
• Collaborate with Operations team members and leaders on reports and analyses supporting day-to-day work.
• Assist Operations staff with other day-to-day activities and take on additional tasks or projects related to ecommerce operations, business intelligence, and supply chain management.
• Follow assignments through to completion, identify issues early, and propose solutions.
• Look for ways to automate or simplify recurring reports and manual work.
