About The Position
The Operations Intern at Canteen, part of Compass Group, gains hands-on experience supporting business operations and client services. The internship runs during summer 2027, from May through August, with dates customizable based on the student’s school schedule. It is based in the Minneapolis metropolitan area and requires 32–40 hours per week, depending on business needs and program requirements. The intern will learn operational best practices and contribute to real-world projects across areas such as marketing and customer service, retail and merchandising, branch operations and support services, finance, purchasing and supply chain, and profit and loss management. The intern may also gain exposure to coffee and refreshments, vending services, and Avenue C Micro-Markets.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a college or professional hospitality or culinary program and provide proof of enrollment.
- Meet the school’s GPA requirement for internships.
- Be available to work 32–40 hours per week, based on business needs and program requirements.
- Have strong organizational skills and be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand the basics of customer service and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Assist with projects that improve business performance.
- Support customer service efforts and occasionally interact with clients.
- Help organize tasks for Micro Markets, Vending, and Coffee Services.
- Share ideas to improve workflows and best practices.
- Collaborate with the team to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
