About The Position

The Mosaic Company is seeking an Operations Engineer Co-Op/Intern for Summer 2027 at its New Wales Manufacturing Facility in Mulberry, FL. This role provides technical support to plant operations groups, focusing on projects to improve facility efficiency and product quality. The internship offers a chance to learn from professionals, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work with a global leader on exciting projects. The term is from May 10, 2027, to August 20, 2027, with full-time hours (typically 36-40 per week) and an in-person work environment. A 9/80 schedule may be applicable. Housing and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Sophomore level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering.
  • 2.75 GPA or higher.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in good standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to operations group including plant optimization, troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention.
  • Assist with data monitoring and statistical analysis to improve product quality and plant performance.
  • Support current business initiatives, which may include specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sites.
  • Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workers.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, lab personnel, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers and Reliability Engineer groups to ensure alignment.
  • Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
