About The Position

The Mosaic Company is seeking an Environmental Engineer Co-Op/Intern for Summer 2027. This role will be based at the Bartow site in Florida, with potential travel to other Florida sites. The intern will be involved in routine environmental engineering duties, collaborating on annual reporting and permitting submissions. Requirements

Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Environmental Engineering.
2.75 GPA or higher.
Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Ability to work full time and be a student in good standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
Basic computer skills are required.
Experience working in a team environment is a must.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work experience.
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally to support the company’s ESG targets by reviewing permitting projects, working with subject matter experts, legal counsel, preparing permit applications, and supporting operations staff.
Engage in a combination of environmental project management and engineering field work, such as groundwater sampling, environmental inspections, and environmental improvement projects.
Work on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related project management, focusing on net zero roadmap modeling.
Contribute to annual and ad hoc reporting activities, assess global best practices, and collaborate with internal stakeholders for data collection.
Conduct facility environmental testing and sampling in accordance with regulatory procedures and permit schedules.
Provide technical training to assist with ongoing compliance, requiring high attention to detail.
Troubleshoot and manage environmental field sampling data using an electronic database.
Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
Participate in department meetings and project-specific meetings.
