About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Employee Scheduling Coordinator to oversee and manage scheduling for Union Production Employees. The successful candidate will review daily vacation requests, manage weekly vacation schedules, maintain the Indeavor Database, assess staffing levels to ensure alignment with production demands, and effectively manage planned overtime. This role requires comfort in an administrative capacity within a unionized environment, with a strong emphasis on communication, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Schedule processing is required between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process daily vacation requests submitted by Union Production Employees, ensuring alignment with union agreements, company policies, and staffing requirements.
  • Adjust and manage weekly vacation schedules for Union Production Employees, ensuring fair distribution and adherence to union guidelines, and communicating any changes to employees.
  • Maintain the Indeavor Database, including jobs, schedules, shifts, and employee qualifications, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Review daily and weekly staffing levels to ensure alignment with production demands, collaborating with production management to address any staffing gaps.
  • Schedule planned overtime, typically two days in advance, to meet production needs by running algorithms in Indeavor to fill volunteer sign-ups and making necessary adjustments.
  • Identify employees requiring forced overtime, ensuring compliance with union agreements and communicating needs to managers and supervisors.
  • Stay informed about union agreements and company vacation policies, ensuring all requests are handled within these frameworks and providing guidance to employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of vacation requests, overtime assignments, and approvals in the HR database.
  • Generate reports on vacation usage, staffing trends, and overtime for management review.
  • Run reports from various systems to analyze data related to scheduling, overtime, and employee qualifications, utilizing advanced Excel skills.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Union Production Employees regarding vacation inquiries, scheduling issues, and overtime questions.
  • Collaborate with union representatives and department managers to address staffing needs related to scheduling and vacation plans.
