About The Position

Forvia North America invites applications for the role of Operations Management or Quality within our Leadership Development Program (LDP). As a member of this program, you will embark on a journey of long-term growth and development with Forvia. Spanning three years, the LDP is designed to draw upon the candidate’s academic background and is tailored to the individual’s needs, capabilities, and goals. With three 12-month rotations across various Forvia facilities, the candidate will gain a wide range of diverse experiences. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate will be placed in a permanent key position within their core field. The 1st rotation, spanning 12 months, will be based in a Forvia facility, such as a Manufacturing Plant or Technical Center. Subsequent rotations will be based on aspirations, business needs, and performance evaluations. These roles could take place within different plants, technical centers, or our North America headquarters.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Operation, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Expected graduation between December 2024 and December 2025.
  • Knowledge of fundamental Operations principles and concepts.
  • Willingness to relocate at the conclusion of each rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of practical work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in navigating ambiguity and matrix environments.
  • Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to work in team environments.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in another language (French, Spanish, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop leadership and decision-making skills through various project assignments and daily responsibilities.
  • Gain cross-cultural exposure and experience.
  • Receive mentorship from an expert within your core discipline.
  • Build an extensive professional network within the organization.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops.
  • Learn shop floor production and personnel management.
  • Shadow experienced Production Supervisor to learn the role in operations.
  • Learn all aspects of Supervisor responsibility.
  • Lead Quality, Cost & Delivery performance for designated group/area.
  • Manage & develop personnel in assigned group/area.
  • Ensure that working conditions are fully compliant with HSE standards of facility.
  • Assist lead supervisor with any additional tasks as assigned.
  • Contribute to the building of the site and departmental improvement plans.
  • Support the Management team in the application of FES methodologies and tools through their active participation on the shop floor thus providing training and coaching to plant personnel.
  • Ensure the correct daily usage of the FES standards.
  • Liaise with Division Senior FES Specialists to gain knowledge of Group Standards and ensure best practices are developed.
  • Support Plant FES&P Manager on day-to-day tasks.
  • Analyze, understand and anticipate the customer needs, ensuring that they are reflected in production activities.
  • Analyze, understand and plan supplier requirements and ensure that they are reflected in planned orders.
  • Manage alerts and follow up with the transportation and the delivery of parts, both inbound and outbound.
  • Manage the pool and safety stocks levels.
  • Check that the sequencer and procurements are consistent with the production plan.
  • Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.
