About The Position

The Operations Crewleader works as part of a crew and provides leadership, training, work direction, coordination, and problem solving. The role leads a smaller operations team and coordinates the work of others without serving as a supervisor. The Crewleader operates autonomously within established procedures and practices, using specialized skills developed through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.

The role is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations, ensuring effective use of labor and equipment, monitoring equipment and processes, training and onboarding operations employees, and coordinating with other plant departments to support optimal operating efficiency. The position works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to climb, stoop, and kneel at heights up to 100 feet.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures, with possible exposure to dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead the activities of a smaller operations team, including tasks, projects, and production plans.
• Ensure efficient use of labor and equipment.
• Conduct daily shift meetings; provide training and work direction; and oversee the assigned crew to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
• Monitor associated equipment and processes, identify potential issues, resolve minor issues or perform minor maintenance as appropriate, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Provide input and recommendations to other plant departments to support consistent and optimal operations efficiency.
• Train and onboard new operations employees.
