About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography (M) OR American Registry for Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS) Breast Ultrasound (BR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians and staff, both internal and external, to cultivate an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring efficient patient flow and problem-solving.
  • Oversees staff across different breast imaging locations
  • Facilitate the delivery of high-quality patient care and services in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Joint Commission and multidisciplinary hospital policies.
  • Implement, evaluate, and uphold service standards consistently throughout the department.
  • Manage patient flow to ensure a positive patient experience and optimize departmental operations.
  • Promote and facilitate collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
  • Coordinate critical situations involving patients, staff, and visitors, providing guidance and support.
  • Identify and communicate key issues and trends to management for review and resolution.
  • Uphold the organization’s philosophy and objectives while promoting teamwork and collaboration among staff.
  • Resolve issues independently while seeking assistance when necessary, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Assist the manager in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new candidates.
  • Support the manager with performance reviews, competency documentation, and staff training programs.
  • Assess and communicate staff development needs to management to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and addressing vacation and leave requests.
  • Approves timecards, as needed
  • Monitor operations proactively, adjusting staffing levels based on patient volumes to prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Facilitate the orientation and training of new staff members, ensuring they are equipped for their roles.
  • Act as a resource for team members regarding departmental processes and systems.
  • Ensure continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments such as surgery, pathology, scheduling and registration.
  • Collaborate with technical coordinators and leadership to maintain quality imaging services and patient care.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management regarding staff performance and departmental operations.
  • Participate in or lead projects and initiatives aimed at departmental improvement and efficiency.
  • Maintain proficiency in all required applications and act as a operational subject matter expert for staff.
  • Perform exams to the expected standards of license, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the breast imaging department.
