This is a Summer job position in our Moving and Storage Long Distance Dispatch department. We are looking for someone that is available to work full time hours during the summer months, May-August. Requirements

  • Able to work full-time hours during our peak season, May-Augusr
  • Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and have the ability to learn Movers Suite, our move management software
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Deadline-oriented, organized, dependable, able to multi-task, with excellent time management skills
  • Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use enterprise software, such as move management software; and the ability to learn and effectively use software needed for job-related functions such as timekeeping.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience moving household goods preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to LDD Dispatchers
  • Copy and scan paperwork to all parties necessary, including coordinators, sales staff, risk management, office staff and accounting department
  • Assist in monitoring the progress of the daily moves to ensure timeliness and prevent service failures
  • Assist Dispatcher in providing accurate weights; maintain log of all certified scale tickets and money collected
  • Assist in scheduling activities as directed by the dispatcher
  • Answer phone calls effectively handling the needs of all callers
  • Other duties as duties assigned
