About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Family Wellbeing, the Administrative Assistant (Summer Student) will support the daily operations of the mental health department. This includes maintaining and improving organizational systems and processes, supporting project activities, and enhancing program outreach.

Requirements

High School Diploma or currently enrolled in college or university
Comfortable with using technology, e.g. MS Office, Internet, skype, websites
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities

Nice To Haves

Experience working with non-profit organizations is an asset

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Mental Health team members to confirm plans for summer programming
Support and assist Mental Health Department with program delivery
Support delivery of outreach & settlement programming
Co-develop initiatives that meet the needs of newcomers of all ages
Develop and support delivery of online, print, and in-person settlement programming
Support summer activities under various Mental Health project teams
Participate in community outreach activities and events
Support activities for newcomers at TIES Wellness Space
Assist with asset/inventory management
Support reception and administrative functions at Westwinds location
Provide reports on a weekly basis or as required
Help other TIES programs and employees when needed
Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Supervisor
