Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or mining related Engineering discipline and one (1) year of experience in an Engineering, System Administration or Technology Support role, including an understanding of data concepts and usage; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a mining-related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of experience in an Engineering, Systems Administration or Technology Support role, including an understanding of data concepts and usage; OR
  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience in general information technology, software troubleshooting, computer systems maintenance and application support, including an understanding of data concepts and usage.
  • Must be customer service-oriented and possess good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in effective communication, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Support clients of operational applications by providing data for specific requests, resolving issues with system functionality and performance.
  • Coordinate training efforts for interfaces on field equipment and provide trainers with the tools and knowledge necessary to deliver effective training to operators. Likewise, provide technical training to system clients, including technical staff and management, on operational applications and data interfaces.
  • Manage the organization of application and database servers and coordinate installations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Create reports using advanced querying and report-building standard tools and maintain existing reports to account for system changes or changes in clients/operational requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining system health of supported applications and performing database administration tasks.
  • Design and plan enhancements to current systems and coordinate the implementation of these plans with vendors, application owners and other involved parties.
  • Design and develop, or coordinate the development of, interfaces which provide integrated data from numerous operational systems for data consumers.
  • Develop and implement modifications for custom applications to improve operational efficiency, seeking third-party solutions where possible.
  • Actively participate and promote Safety and Environmental programs, ensure MIS policy compliance and site operational goals.
  • Perform other duties as required.
