About The Position

Golden Hour Designs is hiring seasonal Operational Support Staff to support retail, production, fulfillment, inventory, and general operations during November and December through the end of the year. The role combines customer-facing retail work with hands-on production tasks, and may grow into a more regular role for the right candidate(s).

The position is 100% on-site at Golden Hour Designs HQ in Sacramento, California. Team members should be comfortable shifting between tasks and work environments, adapting to changing priorities and schedules, and working varied hours to meet seasonal business demands. Availability for a mix of weekdays, weekends, and upcoming holidays is required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of demonstrated experience in retail or customer service.
• Intermediate skill using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Professionalism and the ability to handle difficult situations, including change, with diplomacy and tact.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass a standard background check.
• Availability to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, and upcoming holidays.
• Flexibility to work varied hours based on seasonal business demands.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Shopify POS is highly preferred.
• Previous experience with Slack is preferred.
• Experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
• Experience in events or hospitality.
• Experience with product assembly, craftsmanship, or production environments.
• Experience with basic inventory systems.
• Experience with Google Workspace tools.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers and create a warm, engaging in-store experience.
• Educate customers about product features and assist with product selections and purchases.
• Operate Shopify POS, handle transactions, and maintain accurate inventory tracking.
• Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and by email as needed.
• Keep the retail environment clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Assist with assembling jewelry and home goods while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished products for consistency with GHD standards.
• Package and prepare products for shipment or retail display.
• Operate and maintain production tools and equipment safely.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Receive and verify incoming inventory against purchase orders.
• Track material and product stock levels and update systems accordingly.
• Organize and restock inventory across retail and production areas.
• Participate in routine inventory counts.
• Use Slack and internal tools to stay informed and communicate with the team.
• Support general operational needs and special projects as assigned.
• Assist leadership with cross-functional tasks as business needs evolve.
