About The Position

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring for an Operational Support position in a manufacturing operation. The role supports plant productivity by helping reduce downtime and waste, assisting with plant-floor jobs, and performing plant- and facilities-related work. The employee follows safety and lock-out tag-out procedures and maintains the shop and equipment according to 5S Standards. The position may require stacking parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours. Overtime and weekend work may be needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Willing to work closely day-to-day with other production personnel.
• Ability to share ideas with others to solve important problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Work with a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation, with the goal of increasing productivity and decreasing downtime and waste.
• Take an active role in plant- and facilities-related work.
• Assist with all jobs on the plant floor.
• Follow company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours, if required.
