About The Position

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking an Operational Support team member to assist its manufacturing operation. The role supports productivity, reduces downtime and waste, and contributes to plant and facilities-related work. The position assists with jobs throughout the plant floor, follows company safety requirements, and maintains the shop and equipment according to 5S Standards. The role may require stacking parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Willing to work closely with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Ability to share ideas to solve important problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Work with a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to support manufacturing operations, increase productivity, and decrease downtime and waste.
• Take an active role in plant and facilities-related work.
• Assist with all jobs on the plant floor.
• Follow company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds when required.
