About The Position

This newly created, full-time role of Operational Excellence Specialist reports to the Operational Excellence Manager. The specialist will collaborate across manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and commercial teams to enhance the use of data, processes, and technology for improved operational performance. Key responsibilities include owning KPI governance and data integrity, supporting S&OP processes, and building data infrastructure for greater business visibility and accountability. As the role evolves, it will involve root cause analysis, process improvement, and exploring opportunities in automation, AI, and ERP systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Worked in a manufacturing or supply chain environment with a practical understanding of materials, planning, inventory, and operations.
  • Understand S&OP and can use operational data to identify issues, improve processes, and support decision-making.
  • Highly proficient in Excel for cleaning, structuring, validating, and analyzing complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Ability to spot trends, anomalies, and inconsistencies and investigate them to determine if they are data quality issues or operational problems.
  • Worked with ERP or MRP systems and understand the importance of reliable data in manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Practical exposure to AI and automation, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduced manual work, or enhanced operational information.
  • Curious, hands-on, and comfortable working in an evolving process environment.
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs, work through ambiguity, and proactively communicate with stakeholders across functions.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset, with the patience to investigate problems, challenge assumptions, and help translate insights into action.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-mix or multi-product manufacturing environment.
  • VBA experience.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP system.
  • Experience with comparable ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Exposure to BI and visualization tools such as Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen S&OP processes by integrating sales forecasts, supply commitments, and planning data to build and maintain reliable S&OP inputs, fostering alignment and visibility across Commercial, Planning, Purchasing, and Operations.
  • Own KPI governance by building, maintaining, and improving KPI datasets across functions, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and meaningfulness in operational performance measurement, and supporting performance reviews and accountability.
  • Improve data integrity by consolidating data from multiple systems, using Excel for cleaning, structuring, validation, and analysis, and investigating anomalies to differentiate data quality issues from operational challenges.
  • Turn insights into improvements by moving beyond data identification to understanding root causes, collaborating with cross-functional teams on corrective actions, and identifying opportunities to enhance manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Advance automation and technology by exploring practical applications of AI and automation in operational processes, supporting the evolution of data and technology capabilities, contributing to BI and dashboard development, and assisting with ERP enablement and integration initiatives.
